TORONTO— Where's Our Revolution, the latest release from acclaimed Canadian singer/songwriter Matt Brouwer, has been nominated for a 2010 JUNO Award for Contemporary Christian/Gospel Album of the Year. Canada’s equivalent of the GRAMMY Awards, Brouwer joins fellow nominees Thousand Foot Krutch, FM Static, Steve Bell, and Janelle in the JUNO Awards’ only Christian category.
“I am thrilled and humbled to be included in the list of nominees,” Brouwer said. “The JUNOs are legendary in Canada, so to be nominated is so cool, and really a dream come true.”
In addition to his JUNO nomination, Brouwer received two GMA Canada Covenant Awards last year. He took home honors for Fan Choice Artist of the Year, as well as Folk/Roots Song of the Year for “The Other Side.”
Where's Our Revolution, Brouwer’s third studio recording, was produced by GRAMMY Award winner Michael Omartian. Re-released in August as a Deluxe Edition by Indie Extreme/Universal Music Christian Group, the project features 12 new songs written or co-written by Brouwer.
His career hit singles include “Water,” “I Shall Believe,” “Father I Adore You,” and the recent Top 20 hit "Sometimes." In addition to national and international touring, Brouwer is currently an Artist in Residence at Woodlands United Methodist Church in Houston.
The JUNO Awards will be presented at the JUNO Gala Dinner & Awards on Saturday, April 17, as well as at The 2010 JUNO Awards, which will be broadcast on CTV on Sunday, April 18 from Mile One Centre in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.
